It was obviously bound to happen eventually… but I’m not sure I was completely ready for my little girl to be so grown up. If not for the pandemic, it probably would have happened sooner. But her first school dance was this evening.
We had some hiccups during her getting ready. She was worried the dress she bought would be too dressy. As social media posts rolled in of other taking photos in their dresses… she felt better about wearing it. And dad may have pushed her to be “dressy” for her first dance. In the end, she looked great. Even though she wore the dress, she kept her style at the forefront. She looked like a rocker chick heading out to a concert… that was disconcerting for dad. She’s growing up too quickly. It’s gonna be rough on Mom & Dad.
She said she had a good time. And other than some issues dancing in a dress… she was happy when we picked her and her friend up afterwards.
