Elaine took Maddy to Key West, Florida for spring break. I couldn’t go with them because it was last minute and someone had to stay home to take care of the dogs & cats. So, I did the Dad thing and volunteered.
Elaine needed a vacation and Maddy was owed some cool memories and life experiences. It’s been a rough couple of years, so this trip helped make up for some of it all. But mostly it was about vacationing some where warm and sunny.
I vacationed vicariously
Since I was at home, I got to enjoy their escapades each day through photos, videos, and in their story telling each evening. They only went Monday through Friday so it was a quick trip. But they packed a lot of fun activities in to those four days. Jet skiing, parasailing, the Hemingway museum, delicious dinning… and on the last night, Maddy got to drive on her first drunk filled bus. No, she & Elaine weren’t drunk, but apparently everyone else on the bus was. There were speeches and singing and an interesting time was had on the trip back to the hotel… at 9pm.
I was very happy they enjoyed their trip. They’re already planning a return trip next year!!! We’ll just plan a bit ahead next time.
